Hey there! My name is Rachelle. I am first a lover of Jesus and you will see that in all my writings a thread of scripture or the influence of the greatest love of my life- the Lord. I strive to have my actions follow that of Christ but I am imperfect in my pursuit. I am the middle child of 5, a Florida native born in Miami, Fl and a child of Haitian immigrants! I wear my culture proud, and I love my ancestry
I call my self a creative because I love to express myself through the arts, singing, spoken word, writing and dancing. Give me salsa, meringue, kompa, and even a line dance and I will come alive. Show me how to dance and you may have found your person lol. I love people and can often make a friend of most strangers. And love to make people feel at home with me!
Why I Write?
I am a deep feeler and thinker. I process predominantly through writing and prose. poetry is my medium and I absolutely love it.This coming from the girl with stacks and stacks of journals from my life and 2,000+ notes on my notes app. From spoken word to constant journal entries, I have found this to be true for myself that if I am not writing I am often not processing. My love for writing has grown through the years. I have a love/hate relationship with writing because I must wrestle with all my feelings, desires and disappointments. However, writing promises if I continue to persevere through the uncomfortable feelings at the end I find resolve or at least the truth underneath it all.
An invitation
This writing has taken me to new depths and places of being. I feel most bold in my writing and I hope to invite you to some of the most vulnerable parts of me even though that feels quite scary. Journey with me as I discover the hidden places, feelings, moments and stories that have come to shape me.
I hope my words bring you comfort in knowing you aren’t alone. And know that Hope chases you; namely in Christ and in all the wonderful things he has created! feel free to read, share and leave a comment. I love the curious mind we are one alike.
